Aventura Beach Club is an oceanfront condo-hotel at 19201 Collins Avenue in Sunny Isles Beach, best known as the Marco Polo Beach Resort and operated today as the Ramada Plaza Marco Polo Beach Resort, part of the Wyndham family of brands. Real estate entrepreneur Bennett Lifter built the hotel on Collins Avenue's old Motel Row, and Melvin Grossman, who later designed the original Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, gave it a gently curved facade with minaret-style columns. The Miami-Dade Property Appraiser records it as The Aventura Beach Club Condo with a 1966 year built, and the resort dates its opening to 1967. The county lists 509 residential condo units across floors 1 through 11, plus 109 commercial hotel condo parcels. Aventura Beach Club condos are compact hotel-style units: 345 measure about 360 square feet, most of the rest run about 370 to 440 square feet, and ten larger units measure about 680 square feet. Listings describe studios with two queen beds or a bed and sitting area, kitchenettes with granite counters and stainless-steel appliances, tile floors, and ocean, Intracoastal or city views, and owners often sell them furnished. Listings note that the maintenance fee covers electricity, water, cable and internet. The resort's amenities include a large outdoor pool and a children's wading pool overlooking the ocean, private beach access with towels and lounge chairs, a fitness center and sauna, a pool and snack bar, a lobby cafe, a business center, lobby shops, valet parking and a 24-hour front desk with security. The building sits on the ocean side of Collins Avenue at the north end of Sunny Isles Beach, near the Golden Beach line and surrounded by newer towers such as Residences by Armani/Casa and Regalia. Aventura Mall is a few minutes west across the William Lehman Causeway, and Collins Avenue restaurants, pharmacies and bus service are within walking distance. After its early years under Lifter, the hotel was leased to Hyatt and then to the Diplomat Corporation before Lifter resumed control in 1972. In 1994 it was sold to Crescent Heights, renovated for about $7 million and converted into a condominium-hotel; Aventura Beach Associates took over the hotel operation in 1995 and joined the Ramada chain in 1999 while keeping the Marco Polo name. As of October 2026, about 68 units were listed for sale at asking prices from $75,000 to $299,000, and 18 closed sales over the previous 12 months ranged from $65,000 to $245,000, a median of about $264 per square foot.
