Imperial at Brickell · #1204

Imperial at Brickell occupies a long-tenured perch at 1627 Brickell Avenue, on the southern half of the Brickell corridor where the avenue widens out before crossing into Coral Way. Completed in 1983 and designed by Arquitectonica, the 31-story tower delivered roughly 160 residences laid out as two- and three-bedroom plans with floor sizes that still read large by today's Brickell standards. The building has aged into one of the more value-oriented bayside high-rises on lower Brickell, with many owners modernizing kitchens and baths while keeping the deep balconies and split layouts that defined the original architecture. The Imperial's Arquitectonica origin also predates the firm's later supertall work in the neighborhood, and the squared facade and cantilevered terraces still mark the building among the early-1980s wave that established Brickell Avenue as a residential corridor. The 1627 Brickell address sits a short walk from Simpson Park Hammock, the SE 17th Road waterfront access points, and the lower-Brickell run of restaurants stretching toward The Tower. From here the Metromover Brickell station and the SE 25th Road on-ramps to I-95 are both within minutes, and Mary Brickell Village and Brickell City Centre are an easy ride up the avenue. Bay views from the east-facing units take in Biscayne Bay and the Rickenbacker Causeway, while west-facing residences look toward Coconut Grove and the downtown skyline. The surrounding lower-Brickell blocks have stayed quieter than the financial-district core, with a denser mix of older mid-rises, single-family pockets toward The Roads, and bayside parkland that gives the neighborhood a slower pace. The amenity program at The Imperial is traditional rather than resort-styled: a swimming pool deck, fitness center, covered garage parking, on-site management, and 24-hour security at the lobby. Common areas include a community room and storage facilities, and the building maintains valet-style guest parking on the motor court. For buyers comparing Brickell options, Imperial at Brickell tends to draw owners who want size and a quieter address on lower Brickell rather than the newer glass-tower experience further north, and rental inventory at the building reads as a more affordable entry point to the corridor than newer addresses like Brickell Flatiron or 1010 Brickell.
