Azure · #403

Azure is a 12-story oceanfront condominium at 9401 Collins Avenue in Surfside, delivered in 2005 by Azure Beach Development with architecture by Revuelta Vega Leon. The Azure Surfside building holds 82 residences in one-, two-, and three-bedroom layouts ranging from roughly 1,246 to 2,489 interior square feet plus balcony, a deliberately small floor count and unit count that puts Azure on the boutique end of the Surfside oceanfront stock. Units feature floor-to-ceiling glass, private oceanfront or city-view balconies, European-style kitchen cabinetry, granite countertops, high-end kitchen appliance packages, Whirlpool tubs in primary baths, and in-unit washer/dryers. The Azure condo footprint sits directly on the sand with no roadway separation, giving lower-floor residences direct beachfront access. Surfside is a roughly one-square-mile beach town wedged between Bal Harbour to the north and Miami Beach to the south, and the Azure at 9401 Collins Avenue address puts it three blocks from the Bal Harbour Shops -- one of the highest-grossing luxury retail centers in the country -- and walking distance to the Surfside town pier, the Surf Club Four Seasons, and the Faena District in Mid-Beach. South Beach, Lincoln Road, and the Faena Forum sit about ten minutes south down Collins, and Aventura Mall and the Adrienne Arsht Center are each about a twenty-minute drive. Sunny Isles Beach and the Bal Harbour beach boardwalk run to the north for joggers and walkers. Amenity programming at the Azure project is sized for the building's 82-resident footprint rather than the resort-style decks of larger towers. Residents have a heated oceanfront swimming pool, air-conditioned poolside cabanas, a fitness center with separate his-and-hers locker rooms featuring sauna and massage treatment rooms, and a social/club room with billiards and game tables. Service includes 24-hour concierge, valet parking, controlled-access lobby, and assigned garage parking plus storage units. The Azure Surfside condo trades the multi-deck programming of larger towers for direct, low-density beach access and a more residential feel.
