South Pointe Towers · #1805

South Pointe Towers commands the southern tip of South of Fifth at 400 South Pointe Drive, a 25-story tower completed in 1987 as the neighborhood's first high-rise condominium. Developed by John A. Hinson, South Pointe Towers houses roughly 202 to 208 residences in studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom configurations ranging from approximately 858 to 1,802 interior square feet. Many of the units at South Pointe Towers have been individually renovated over the past two decades and feature open layouts, updated kitchens and baths, private balconies, in-unit washer/dryers, and direct views of Government Cut, Fisher Island, South Pointe Park, the cruise channel, and the Atlantic over the Boardwalk. The building's massing -- set back from the cruise channel -- gives most upper-floor residences an open south and east exposure. The South Pointe Towers address gives residents direct walking access to South Pointe Park, the South Pointe Pier, and the Government Cut channel walk where cruise ships and yachts pass within feet of the shoreline. Joe's Stone Crab, Smith & Wollensky, Prime 112, Milos, and the SoFi restaurant grid are within a two- to four-block walk, while the bay walk past Murano at Portofino, Continuum, and Apogee is one block west of South Pointe Towers. The Fisher Island ferry sits half a mile west at the MacArthur Causeway terminal, and Brickell, Brickell City Centre, and the Mandarin Oriental Brickell Key are roughly 12 minutes away via the MacArthur. The Art Deco District begins at Fifth Street four blocks north, and Lummus Park's Boardwalk links the building to Lincoln Road in a 15-minute walk. Amenities at South Pointe Towers include a waterfront heated swimming pool with direct cruise-channel views, a spacious pool deck with cabanas, two lighted tennis courts, a renovated fitness room, a billiards and game room, a multipurpose social room and library, a dog park, 24-hour gated security, valet, and covered secured parking. South Pointe Towers is pet-friendly and runs one of the larger management programs in SoFi, with reserved guest parking, porter service, and bike storage. The combination of the building's age and its location at the southern tip of Miami Beach has kept South Pointe Towers competitively priced relative to the newer towers next door, while still offering some of the best Government Cut views in the neighborhood.
