Majestic Tower rises 22 stories at 9601 Collins Avenue in Bal Harbour, occupying a directly oceanfront parcel one block south of the Bal Harbour Shops. The building was completed in 1998 and designed by Miami architect Clement DiFillippo, whose rippling facade is meant to echo the curl of the Atlantic just behind the building. Majestic Tower contains roughly 153 to 166 residences across two-, three- and four-bedroom layouts plus penthouses, with most floor plans ranging from about 2,160 to 5,469 square feet -- generous proportions for a late-1990s Bal Harbour high-rise. Inside Majestic Tower, residences typically feature marble flooring, floor-to-ceiling glass, open kitchens with stone counters and oversized terraces with direct ocean exposure. The Collins Avenue site puts residents within a one-block walk of Bal Harbour Shops, the 500,000-square-foot luxury retail center anchored by Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus and home to Le Zoo, Carpaccio, Makoto and the open-air courtyard restaurants under the village's signature banyan trees.
