Brickell Key One · #A1015

Brickell Key One is the original residential tower on Brickell Key, built in 1982 as the first building on the man-made island just east of Brickell. Developed by Swire Properties with architecture by J. Scott Architecture, the 22-story building delivered 316 residences spanning studio, one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom layouts, with unit sizes running from under 500 square feet up to nearly 3,700 square feet. Because it predates the rest of the island's high-rise wave, Brickell Key One sits closer to the entry causeway, with views that take in Biscayne Bay, the Miami River mouth, and the downtown skyline. The 1982 delivery date also makes Brickell Key One the foundational building that Swire used to establish the broader island master plan, with Two Tequesta Point, Three Tequesta Point, Isola, Carbonell, and Asia following over the next two and a half decades. The Brickell Key address gives Brickell Key One residents the island's signature setup: a gated, low-traffic enclave connected to the Brickell mainland by a single causeway, with a public baywalk that loops the perimeter and includes a small park, a hotel, and a row of restaurants. The Mandarin Oriental sits at the southern tip of the island, and Brickell City Centre, Mary Brickell Village, and the Metromover Brickell and Knight Center stations are all within a short walk or quick ride across the bridge. The island's east-side baywalk looks across to South Beach and the Port of Miami, while west-side units face the Brickell skyline. The island also hosts a Publix Sabor, a small group of cafes, and the entry to the perimeter jogging path that local residents use as a 1.4-mile loop. Amenity-wise, Brickell Key One carries the older Swire program: a heated swimming pool and sundeck with bay views, a fitness center, tennis courts, racquetball, a sauna, a community room, a children's play area, and 24-hour staffed security and valet at the porte cochere. Owners also share the island-wide perks of the Brickell Key baywalk, the small island convenience retail, and the cluster of restaurants tied to the Mandarin and the central plaza. As the longest-standing tower on the island, Brickell Key One tends to offer the most varied unit-size inventory on the key, and the building's pricing band has historically been the most accessible entry into a Brickell Key address.
