Mei · #1008

Mei rises 21 stories at 5875 Collins Avenue in Mid-Beach, an Asian-inspired oceanfront condominium completed in 2008. The name Mei translates to 'beauty and femininity' in Mandarin, and the building's facade pairs honed limestone with teak detailing across a tower designed by Kobi Karp Architecture with interiors by Hirsch Bedner Design. Mei was developed by PMG Collins LLC and contains 133 residences in one- through four-bedroom layouts. Units at Mei feature floor-to-ceiling glass, Italian porcelain flooring, European cabinetry, custom built-ins, and direct ocean, Indian Creek, or city exposures depending on orientation. Select penthouse residences at Mei occupy the upper floors and include oversized wraparound terraces and outdoor summer-kitchen build-outs. Mei's Mid-Beach address sits on Collins Avenue between 58th and 59th Streets, putting it within walking distance of The Bath Club and the Carillon Miami wellness campus to the north and the Faena District and Soho Beach House to the south. La Gorce Country Club is one block west across Indian Creek, with Mount Sinai Medical Center two blocks north on the same bay-side corridor and Normandy Isles linked by the 71st Street causeway. The 41st Street Arthur Godfrey shopping corridor and the Bandshell at North Shore Open Space Park are both within a five-minute drive of Mei, with Lincoln Road and the Art Deco District roughly 10 minutes south along Collins. Bal Harbour Shops, the Surf Club Surfside, and Bal Harbour's St. Regis sit about 10 minutes north on Collins. Mei amenities include a beachfront heated swimming pool with full cabana service, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a spa with sauna and steam rooms, an oceanfront residents' lounge, a yoga and pilates studio with daily group programming, a business center, 24-hour concierge, valet, beach service with attendants, gated entry, secured covered parking, and direct beach access through the building. Mei is pet-friendly within the building's published guidelines, and the lobby and common areas reflect the Asian-inspired design ethos -- water features, teak millwork, and natural-stone surfaces -- that defines the building's overall positioning along the Mid-Beach oceanfront.
