Oceansound at Key Colony · #234

Oceansound at Key Colony, also marketed as Key Colony II Oceansound, is a 12-story oceanfront condominium at 251 Crandon Boulevard inside the gated Key Colony community on Key Biscayne, the barrier-island village reached from Miami across the Rickenbacker Causeway. Oceansound was completed in 1979 by developer Fritz Scharenberg as the second of four towers in the Key Colony master plan, sharing more than 40 acres of oceanfront grounds and over 1,000 feet of private beach with sister buildings Tidemark, Emerald Bay and Botanica. The Oceansound tower carries the same pyramid-stepped silhouette that defines the rest of Key Colony, with 310 residences laid out as one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom homes and a small line of beachfront townhomes at the base. The Oceansound site looks east directly onto the Atlantic and west across Biscayne Bay, with the building flanked by Tidemark to the north at 201 Crandon Boulevard and the rest of Key Colony stretching toward Crandon Park, Crandon Park Beach and the Crandon Park Tennis Center, the former host of the Miami Open. Crandon Boulevard runs the spine of Key Biscayne south past the Village of Key Biscayne shops and restaurants to Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park and the Cape Florida Lighthouse at the tip of the island. Residences at Oceansound at Key Colony typically feature private balconies that overlook the Atlantic, Biscayne Bay or the tropical pool decks below, with corner layouts that capture cross-island light. Owners at Oceansound share the full Key Colony amenity program, anchored by an oceanfront swimming pool, the Olympic lap pool at the center of the community, an adults-only oceanfront pool, twelve tennis courts at the Key Colony tennis center, a fitness center with sauna, a clubhouse and party room, basketball and racquetball courts, a children's playground, beach cabanas, a small market and cafe and barbecue pavilions, with valet, covered parking, a manned gatehouse and 24-hour security keeping the gated enclave private.
