Turnberry Ocean Colony is a private twin-tower oceanfront condominium at 16047 and 16051 Collins Avenue in Sunny Isles Beach, set on roughly 650 feet of Atlantic shoreline behind a gated entry. The South Tower at 16047 Collins and the North Tower at 16051 Collins were completed in 2006 by Turnberry Associates in joint venture with CABI Developers, with architecture by Robert M. Swedroe of Swedroe Architecture, the firm whose principal spent twelve years as senior designer for Morris Lapidus on the Fontainebleau. Each Turnberry Ocean Colony tower rises 36 to 38 stories and contains roughly 130 residences for a combined 260 condos in two- to five-bedroom layouts that span 2,235 to 5,700 square feet, plus a small line of penthouses that extend well above 5,000 square feet. The Turnberry Ocean Colony parcel sits on Collins Avenue between 160th and 162nd Streets in Sunny Isles Beach, with Bal Harbour Shops and the Haulover Inlet a short drive south, the Aventura Mall and Loehmann's Plaza inland to the west across the Intracoastal and Hollywood and Hallandale Beach reachable to the north along Collins Avenue. Sunny Isles Beach itself runs from 158th Street north to the Golden Beach line, and Turnberry Ocean Colony occupies one of the deeper beachfront parcels along the corridor.
