Isola · #1007

Isola is a 23-story bayfront condominium at 770 Claughton Island Drive on Brickell Key, completed in 1990 by Swire Properties with architecture by J. Scott Architecture. The building delivered approximately 300 residences across one- and two-bedroom floor plans, with terraced balconies, floor-to-ceiling sliders in many homes, and views that take in Biscayne Bay, the Miami River, and the downtown Miami skyline depending on the unit's exposure. Isola was Swire's second residential tower on the island after Brickell Key One and helped extend the master plan that the developer has continued to build out over the following decades. The original Italian name Isola, meaning island, also reflects the broader naming convention Swire used across the key alongside Asia, Carbonell, and the Tequesta Point series. The Brickell Key address gives Isola the island's gated, low-traffic setup, with the perimeter baywalk looping past the building's frontage and connecting to the Mandarin Oriental at the southern tip, the small central plaza of restaurants, and the island's park and tennis courts. Across the single causeway to Brickell, owners are within walking distance of Brickell City Centre, Mary Brickell Village, and the Metromover Knight Center and Brickell stations. Downtown Miami's Bayfront Park, the Kaseya Center, and the Brightline MiamiCentral station are a short drive or ride north, and the cruise terminals at PortMiami are a quick crossing east. Brickell Key Park, a small but well-kept island green space with a children's playground and shaded benches, is also within walking distance of the building. Resident amenities at Isola include a heated swimming pool and sundeck with bay views, a fitness center, tennis courts, a sauna, a community room, a children's play area, and 24-hour concierge and security at the porte cochere. The building maintains a controlled-access lobby, valet at the entry, and on-site management, and owners share access to the broader Brickell Key baywalk and park network. Because of the unit-size range and the island setting, Isola tends to draw a mix of full-time owners and long-term renters who want the gated environment with smaller-floor-plan inventory than Carbonell or Asia, and the building's price-per-square-foot positioning has historically been one of the more accessible entry points to the Brickell Key island.
