Ocean Manor Beach Resort is an 11-story oceanfront condo-hotel at 4040 Galt Ocean Drive in Fort Lauderdale, completed in 1960 by developer James S. Hunt with architecture by Adache Group Architects. The Ocean Manor building holds approximately 125 residences in studio and one-bedroom layouts, sold and rented as condo-hotel units under an on-site management program. Most Ocean Manor units are turnkey furnished and include kitchenettes, oceanfront balconies, ocean or city exposures, and updated baths. The original 1960 design has been refreshed multiple times over the decades, but Ocean Manor remains the first high-rise built on Galt Mile and one of the few mid-century resort properties still operating on the strip in its original form. The Ocean Manor site sits at the southern end of the Galt Mile, a mile-long strip of mid-century oceanfront towers along A1A in north Fort Lauderdale. The Galt Mile community runs walking and beach-cleanup programs along the strand, and the 200-foot private beach at Ocean Manor was one of the original celebrity haunts of the 1960s, hosting visits from figures including the Rat Pack.
