Mondrian South Beach · #425

Mondrian South Beach occupies 1100 West Avenue on the bayfront stretch of South Beach, a 22-story condo-hotel that opened in 2008 following a $50 million renovation of a 1964 tower by Morgans Hotel Group. Dutch designer Marcel Wanders led the design overhaul at Mondrian South Beach, layering surrealist Dutch motifs -- oversized chandeliers, butterfly patterns, the Sleeping Beauty rose garden on the pool deck, mirror-finished hallways -- into the building's lobby, common areas, and 343 oversized studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and penthouse residences. Mondrian South Beach was the first condo-hotel from Morgans Hotel Group, the boutique operator behind the Delano, Mondrian, Hudson, and Royalton brands, and residences include hotel-style turnkey furnishing packages and access to the operator's rental and housekeeping programs. Mondrian South Beach's West Avenue address looks west across Biscayne Bay toward Star Island, Hibiscus Island, Palm Island, and the downtown Miami skyline, with a private marina at the rear of the property and a continuous bay walk running south to South of Fifth. The Venetian Causeway one block south connects Mondrian South Beach to the Venetian Islands chain and continues into the Adrienne Arsht Center and Margaret Pace Park district on the mainland. Lincoln Road is six blocks east, Sunset Harbour and its restaurant cluster (Pubbelly, Lucali, The Standard Spa) are three blocks north along West Avenue, and the Fontainebleau, Faena District, and Soho Beach House sit roughly 10 minutes away by car via Alton Road. MacArthur Causeway access is six blocks south at Fifth Street, putting Brickell and Brickell City Centre within a 10-minute drive. Resident amenities at Mondrian South Beach include the bayfront pool deck with the signature Sleeping Beauty rose garden, a private marina with available slips, the Asian-inspired Agua Bathhouse spa, a 24-hour fitness center, signature dining at the lobby-level restaurant, a residents' lounge, 24-hour concierge and valet, gated entry, and the operating Mondrian hotel program providing housekeeping, room service, and a turnkey rental program coordinated by the operator. Mondrian South Beach is one of the few South Beach buildings to offer fully managed condo-hotel ownership with a major boutique-hotel brand, and the Marcel Wanders interior package remains one of the more distinctive design statements in the Miami Beach condo market.
