Bath Club · #1606

The Bath Club at 5959 Collins Avenue layers a 20-story residential tower over the restored 1926 members-only club that gave the property its name. The Mid-Beach condominium delivered in 2005, developed by Don Peebles' Peebles Atlantic Development with architecture by Revuelta Vega Leon, P.A. The Bath Club houses approximately 115 residences in two-, three-, and four-bedroom layouts, with select penthouses spanning the upper floors. Units at the Bath Club feature 10-foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling glass, Italian marble flooring, custom European cabinetry, and direct Atlantic views, and the original Mediterranean Revival clubhouse -- Florida's first members-only club, dating to 1926 -- was preserved and reopened with the residences as a private amenity. Don Peebles became the first African-American member of the historic Bath Club in 1996 before purchasing the club and undertaking the residential development. The Bath Club's footprint covers roughly eight acres of beachfront between La Gorce Country Club and the Indian Creek waterway, putting Mid-Beach's quietest residential stretch within walking distance. Collins Avenue links the Bath Club south to the Faena District and Soho Beach House in under a mile and north to Bal Harbour Shops, the Surf Club Surfside, and Bal Harbour's St. Regis in roughly two miles. The cycling and jogging path along Indian Creek borders the rear of the property, while La Gorce CC, Mount Sinai Medical Center, and the 41st Street Arthur Godfrey shopping corridor sit within a five-minute drive. Bayside neighborhoods including Normandy Isles, Ocean Terrace, and the 71st Street causeway connect Bath Club residents to North Bay Village, and the Julia Tuttle Causeway delivers Wynwood and the Design District in roughly 15 minutes. Residents at the Bath Club hold membership-style access to the preserved historic clubhouse, which operates as a private beach club with two oceanfront pools, full cabana and beach service, four lighted clay tennis courts on the Indian Creek side, a fitness center, a spa, the Bath Club clubhouse restaurant, ballroom-grade event space, a kids' program, and 24-hour concierge, valet, and security. The Bath Club residences themselves include private elevators in most units, a residents' lounge, additional pool deck reserved for owners, climate-controlled storage, secured covered parking, and porter service. The combination of preserved historic club and new tower remains one of the rare new-construction Mid-Beach buildings to actively include a working private club as part of the residence program.
