One Thousand Museum · #2002

One Thousand Museum is a 62-story, 707-foot ultra-luxury residential skyscraper at 1000 Biscayne Boulevard in Downtown Miami, completed in 2019 as the only residential tower in the Western Hemisphere designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Zaha Hadid and one of the final projects of her career. The tower was developed by 1000 Biscayne Tower LLC, a partnership of Louis Birdman, Gregg Covin, Kevin Venger, and Regalia Group, with DeSimone Consulting Engineers leading the structural work. One Thousand Museum holds just 84 residences, sized from approximately 4,600 to more than 10,000 square feet, arranged as 4 duplex townhouses on floors 12-13, 70 half-floor residences on floors 14-55, 10 full-floor penthouses of about 9,910 square feet with 12-foot ceilings on floors 56-61, and a 16,220-square-foot duplex penthouse crowning the tower. The sculptural exterior is wrapped by a curving exoskeleton of roughly 4,800 custom-fabricated glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) panels that allow column-free interiors and oversized terraces traced by the same curves, a structural-as-sculpture move that earned the tower the nickname the Scorpion Tower. One Thousand Museum sits directly on Museum Park along the Biscayne Bay waterfront, immediately across from the Perez Art Museum Miami by Herzog and de Meuron, the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, the Kaseya Center home of the Miami Heat, and Maurice A. Ferre Park, with the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, Bayfront Park, Bayside Marketplace, PortMiami, and the MacArthur Causeway to Miami Beach all within minutes. Residences at One Thousand Museum open through private elevator landings to floor-to-ceiling glass, 10- to 20-foot ceilings, and 360-degree views across Biscayne Bay, the Atlantic, Downtown, and Brickell. The 30,000-plus-square-foot amenity program includes the first private residential rooftop helipad in South Florida; a double-height aquatic center with an indoor infinity-edge pool; a sky lounge; a two-level indoor-outdoor wellness center across floors 8 and 9 with hammam, sauna, steam, plunge pools, treatment rooms, and a beauty suite; a state-of-the-art fitness center; an outdoor yoga area; a private screening theater; an oversized sun deck; and 24-hour concierge, valet, and security, with on-site management.
