Island Terrace at 5 Island Ave · #8H

Island Terrace is a 16-story bayfront residence at 5 Island Avenue on Belle Isle in the Venetian Islands, completed in 1967 and designed by legendary Miami Modern architect Morris Lapidus. The Island Terrace tower houses approximately 139 residences across one-, two-, and four-bedroom layouts ranging from 680 to roughly 1,900 square feet. The Morris Lapidus-designed Island Terrace at 5 Island Avenue carries the signature MiMo curves and balcony rhythm that defined Lapidus' mid-century work on the Fontainebleau, Eden Roc, and Lincoln Road. Many residences at the Island Terrace Belle Isle building have been renovated by individual owners with updated kitchens, baths, and floor finishes, while preserving the original wraparound terraces and floor-to-ceiling glass that capture Biscayne Bay, the Downtown Miami skyline, and the Venetian Causeway. Belle Isle is the westernmost of the Venetian Islands chain, connected to South Beach by the historic Venetian Causeway and to Downtown Miami via the same bridge series. The Island Terrace at 5 Island Avenue sits roughly two blocks from the Standard Hotel and Spa, a five-minute walk to Sunset Harbour with its Pubbelly restaurants and Whole Foods, and ten minutes to Lincoln Road. The Venetian Causeway connects Belle Isle to San Marco, Di Lido, Belle, Rivo Alto, and the rest of the Venetian Islands chain, all single-family-home enclaves. Compared to South Beach high-rises or Edgewater across the bay, Belle Isle offers a quieter, single-island feel with sunrise water views east and sunset skyline views west, all within walking distance of Sunset Harbour, Flamingo Park, and the SoFi district. The Island Terrace amenity program is modest by 2026 standards but generous for a 1967 Lapidus building. Residents at Island Terrace share a heated bayfront resort-style swimming pool overlooking Biscayne Bay, a private fitness center, additional resident storage, bicycle parking, and assigned covered parking. The Belle Isle Island Terrace building offers 24-hour security and on-site management, with a building manager during business hours. Many Island Terrace residences enjoy direct bay and causeway views, and the lobby retains Lapidus' original mid-century design language. The 5 Island Avenue Island Terrace remains pet-friendly, and the Belle Isle setting offers the city's quietest walk-to-the-bay lifestyle just one bridge from Lincoln Road and Sunset Harbour.
