Akoya · #2005

Akoya rises 47 stories at 6365 Collins Avenue in North Beach, an oceanfront condominium completed in 2004 by developer Merco Group with architecture by Brito Cohan. Akoya delivers 386 residences in one-, two-, and three-bedroom configurations ranging from approximately 683 to over 3,000 interior square feet, with a 6,000-square-foot crown penthouse on the upper floor featuring an outdoor kitchen, a private jacuzzi, and wraparound Atlantic-and-Indian-Creek terraces. Units at Akoya feature floor-to-ceiling glass, European cabinetry, granite or stone countertops, private terraces, in-unit washer/dryers, and ocean, Indian Creek, or downtown skyline views depending on exposure. The building's height makes Akoya one of the tallest residential buildings on the North Beach segment of Collins Avenue. The Akoya address sits on Collins Avenue between 63rd and 64th Streets, on the dividing line between Mid-Beach and North Beach. North Shore Open Space Park, Ocean Terrace, and the Bandshell at 73rd Street are within a short drive of Akoya, while the Faena District and Soho Beach House sit eight blocks south along Collins. La Gorce Country Club and the Indian Creek waterway are one block west across Collins, providing cycling and jogging routes, and Normandy Isles, Mount Sinai Medical Center, and the 71st Street causeway connect Akoya to North Bay Village. Bal Harbour Shops, the Surf Club Surfside, the St. Regis Bal Harbour, and the Broad Causeway to Bay Harbor Islands sit approximately 15 minutes north on Collins, and the Julia Tuttle Causeway delivers Wynwood and the Design District in 15 to 20 minutes. Amenities at Akoya are scaled to the building's 386-residence inventory: a heated oceanfront swimming pool with direct beach access, a state-of-the-art fitness center with steam room, indoor squash and tennis courts, a residents' lounge, a children's playroom, a business center, beach service with cabana rental, 24-hour concierge, valet, gated entry, secured covered parking, and porter service. Akoya runs an active market-rental and resale program that drives consistent leasing velocity through the year, and the building's combination of one- to three-bedroom inventory makes it one of North Beach's more liquid oceanfront addresses for both end-users and investors.
