The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale is a 24-story oceanfront hotel and residence tower at 1 N Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard, designed by Arquitectonica. Developed as Castillo Grand, it opened in May 2007 as The St. Regis Fort Lauderdale, billed as the first St. Regis built in the eastern U.S. since the 1904 New York flagship, and Ritz-Carlton took over in August 2008. The tower holds 62 residences, according to Broward County property records: 28 privately owned Residences on floors 18 to 24 and 34 condo-hotel units on floors 15 to 17. The 166-room hotel occupies the lower floors and connects to the beach by a skywalk. Owners have access to an infinity pool on a 29,000-square-foot deck, an 8,500-square-foot spa and the Burlock Coast restaurant. This is a separate building from the Ritz-Carlton Residences, Fort Lauderdale Beach, a newer project announced for 551 Bayshore Drive.
