Why Pompano Beach
Pompano Beach's oceanfront was, until a few years ago, a line of mid-century motels and older condominiums. The city's pier district redevelopment and a run of branded projects, this one and the W Pompano Beach among them, have changed that. Waldorf Astoria is the first of the new generation to top off.
The site has about 200 feet of beach on the ocean side of A1A, south of the pier and north of the Hillsboro Inlet.
| Nearby | Approx. distance |
|---|---|
| Pompano Beach pier and fishing village district | About 5 minutes |
| Hillsboro Inlet | About 5 minutes |
| Fort Lauderdale Beach | About 15 minutes |
| Boca Raton | About 15 minutes |
| Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport | About 30 minutes |
The Residences
92 homes, two to five bedrooms, from roughly 2,100 to 6,100 square feet, every one entered through a private elevator. The four-penthouse collection carries terraces of 3,200 to 3,500 square feet and was priced at $16 million to $20 million.
Amenities
Outdoors: a 20,000-square-foot oceanfront pool deck with cabanas and an outdoor bar, a private marina of about 24 slips, a beachside cafe and a ground-floor restaurant.
Indoors, more than 15,000 square feet: a spa with treatment rooms and dual saunas, a fitness center and movement studio, a billiards lounge, a multi-sport simulator, a children's entertainment center and a Peacock Alley lounge, the Waldorf's signature.
Services: 24-hour Waldorf Astoria staff for concierge, in-residence dining, beach and pool service and housekeeping.
The Developers
Related Group, Jorge Pérez's Miami company, and Merrimac Ventures, Dev Motwani's Fort Lauderdale firm, are partners on several Broward projects. Hilton's Waldorf Astoria brand is the operator of the residential service program. The general contractor is Coastal Construction.
